To send flowers to Alajuela from abroad, place your order online in USD and a local Alajuela florist will build the bouquet fresh and deliver it by hand within 1-2 business days. Arrangements start around $55, with a flat $14.95 service fee no matter where in the world you are ordering from.
What makes Alajuela an easy city for flower delivery?
Alajuela sits right next to Juan Santamaría International Airport, which makes it the first Costa Rican city many travelers ever see — and one of the best connected for deliveries. Locals call it the City of Mangoes, after the old mango trees shading the Parque Central, and the surrounding province climbs from warm coffee country up toward the Poás Volcano. A florist based here knows the difference between an address in the compact downtown grid and one out in Carrizal or San Isidro on the volcano road, so your bouquet is routed by someone who actually drives these streets.
When do Costa Ricans in Alajuela expect flowers?
Circle August 15: Costa Rica celebrates Mother's Day on the Feast of the Assumption, and it is the single biggest flower-giving day of the year — order early that week. April 11 is Juan Santamaría Day, when Alajuela honors its hometown national hero with parades through the center; birthdays and anniversaries around that date get swept into a festive mood. Valentine's Day, graduations, and new babies fill out the calendar. The dry season (December through April) is bright and reliable, but even in the green season afternoon rains rarely disrupt a morning delivery.
How do payment and messaging work from overseas?
Prices are in USD — convenient, since dollars are widely understood in Costa Rica — and the $14.95 fee is fixed. Pay with a card, PayPal, Shop Pay, or pay with Bitcoin straight from checkout. You can order in English or Spanish, and your gift note is delivered exactly as written, so go ahead and write it in Spanish if that is how your family talks. Same-day delivery is frequently available when you order before noon Costa Rica time, and abcFlora's 4.8/5 rating from 377+ verified reviews comes largely from senders abroad reaching family back home.
Need another city in the Valle Central? We arrange flower delivery across Costa Rica, including neighboring Heredia and the capital, San José, both under an hour away.
