Bouquets start around $55, and the service fee is a fixed $14.95.

What role do flowers play in Colombo life?

Flowers are woven deep into Sri Lankan culture. Lotus blossoms and frangipani are offered daily at temples like Gangaramaya, and during Vesak in May the whole city glows with lanterns while devotees carry blooms to shrines. That devotional familiarity shapes taste: people in Colombo know fresh flowers when they see them, which is exactly why every abcFlora bouquet is arranged in the city on delivery day rather than flown in a box.

On the personal side, weddings, Poya day visits to family, graduations, and new babies at the city's hospitals all keep local florists busy year-round.

When is the best time to send flowers to Colombo?

The Sinhala and Tamil New Year in mid-April is the island's biggest family celebration, and a bouquet arriving alongside the sweets and visits is a lovely gesture from abroad. Vesak in May, Valentine's Day, and December's holiday season round out the peaks. Colombo's two monsoons — roughly May to August and October to January — rarely disrupt delivery, since your florist is already in the city and plans routes around the rain.

For everyday occasions, the 1-2 day window means you can react quickly: hear good news today, have flowers at their door tomorrow.

How does delivery work across the city?

Colombo runs from the seafront lawns of Galle Face Green through the bustle of Pettah to the tree-lined streets of Cinnamon Gardens, and out to suburbs like Dehiwala and Nugegoda. Your florist knows these neighbourhoods and delivers to homes, offices, and hospitals alike, calling the recipient if the address needs clarifying. You can order in English or Spanish; the card message is delivered exactly as you type it, Sinhala or Tamil included.

Payment is flexible for a diaspora audience: cards, PayPal, Shop Pay, or the option to pay with Bitcoin right at checkout — often the smoothest route when your bank is fussy about international transactions. abcFlora has been doing this since 2005, rated 4.8/5 across 377+ verified reviews. Colombo is our gateway city on the island, and you can see the full picture of flower delivery across Sri Lanka — USD pricing and the same flat fee throughout.
