Florist San José - Costa Rica Blumen

To send flowers to San José from abroad, order online and a florist in Costa Rica's capital arranges the bouquet fresh, hand-delivering it within 1-2 business days — often same day if you order before noon local time. Everything is priced in US dollars, with bouquets from about $55 and a flat $14.95 service fee.

When is the biggest flower day in San José?

Circle August 15. Costa Rica celebrates Mother's Day on the Feast of the Assumption, and it is a full national holiday — families gather, restaurants fill, and florists across the Central Valley have their busiest day of the year. If you are sending for a mamá in San José, order several days ahead. Valentine's Day, celebrated as Día del Amor y la Amistad, and the December graduation season are the other reliable peaks, and Costa Ricans mark birthdays and new babies with flowers as readily as anyone in Latin America.

Where do the flowers themselves come from?

Remarkably close by. The cool highlands ringing the Central Valley — especially the slopes around Cartago — grow roses, lilies, and foliage commercially, which means a San José florist works with genuinely fresh, locally grown stems rather than long-haul imports. The capital's famous eternal-spring climate helps too: at over a thousand meters of altitude, arrangements last noticeably longer here than in the lowland heat of the coasts. Your bouquet is composed the day it is delivered, never shipped in a box.

Which parts of the city do florists cover?

Delivery reaches the historic core around Barrio Amón with its coffee-boom mansions, the office towers along Paseo Colón and La Sabana, the university neighborhoods of San Pedro and Los Yoses, and the western suburbs where much of the city now lives. Costa Rican addresses famously run on landmarks rather than street numbers — 200 meters north of the church, and so on — so paste the directions exactly as your recipient gives them and include their phone number. Gift messages are delivered word for word in Spanish or English, and you can check out with cards, PayPal, Shop Pay, or pay with Bitcoin.

Family beyond the capital? We deliver to the neighboring provincial capitals too — see our Alajuela and Heredia collections — or browse flower delivery across Costa Rica for the rest of the country.
