Florist Athen - Blumen Griechenland

Send flowers to Athens from abroad by ordering online in USD: a florist based in the city arranges your bouquet fresh and hand-delivers it within 1-2 business days. Bouquets start around $55, plus a flat $14.95 service fee — identical for Greece and every other country we serve.

Why are name days the secret to flower giving in Athens?

In Greece, the giortí — the name day — often outranks the birthday. Everyone named after a saint celebrates on that saint's feast, the date is public knowledge, and friends are expected to call, visit, or send something. If your friend is a Maria, a Dimitris, a Eleni, or a Yiannis, their name day is the single best moment to have flowers at their door, whether that door is in leafy Kolonaki, studenty Exarchia, or a family apartment out in Kifisia. It is a tradition tailor-made for sending flowers from abroad, because the date never moves and never gets forgotten.

What other Athenian occasions call for flowers?

Protomagia, May 1, is Greece's flower day outright: Athenians drive out of the city to gather blooms and hang handmade wreaths on their doors, a custom older than memory. Greek Easter, the emotional peak of the year, brings families together over long tables and lambs on spits — flowers for the hosting matriarch are always right. Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May, February 14, graduations, and the autumn return from the islands round out the calendar. Athens' mild winters and long, bright springs mean local florists work with excellent Mediterranean stock most of the year.

How does the process work from another country?

Your order goes to an Athens florist who builds the bouquet on delivery day and brings it by hand through a city better navigated by a local than by any courier algorithm. Standard delivery takes 1-2 business days; order before noon Greek time and same-day is often available. Prices are in USD with the fixed $14.95 fee, and checkout accepts cards, PayPal, Shop Pay, and Bitcoin — you can pay with Bitcoin natively via OpenNode. Your message is printed exactly as you write it, in Greek, English, or Spanish. abcFlora holds a 4.8/5 rating from more than 377 verified reviews.

We also arrange flower delivery across Greece, including Thessaloniki in the north and the port city of Patras on the Peloponnese.
