Florist Brünn - Tschechien Blumen

You can send flowers to Brno from anywhere: order in US dollars, a florist based in the city arranges the bouquet fresh, and it is hand-delivered in 1-2 business days — often same-day if ordered before noon local time. Prices start near $55 and the service fee is always a flat $14.95, so there is no koruna conversion to puzzle over from abroad.

What role do name days play in Brno?

In the Czech Republic, your svatek — name day — is celebrated almost as seriously as your birthday. Every date on the calendar belongs to a name — Czech calendars and diaries print them as a matter of course — and colleagues, classmates and family are expected to mark the day, usually with flowers or chocolate. If the person you love in Brno is named Jana, Petr or Tereza, look up their day; a bouquet arriving at the door on their svatek shows you understand how things are done here, and it is a gesture Czechs genuinely notice from someone abroad.

Which other Czech dates call for flowers?

The first of May is the Czech day of love: couples traditionally kiss under a blossoming tree — a custom tied to the Romantic poet Karel Hynek Macha — and Brno's spring parks fill with them. Mother's Day falls on the second Sunday of May, International Women's Day on March 8 still brings flowers into offices, and Valentine's Day has grown steadily among younger Brno couples. Graduation season adds another wave entirely, because this is one of Central Europe's great student cities.

Where does Brno's flower culture live?

Start at Zelny trh, the sloping Cabbage Market square below Petrov cathedral, where vendors have sold produce and cut flowers for centuries around the baroque Parnas fountain, under the gaze of Spilberk Castle. Listen for the cathedral bells: they famously ring noon at eleven o'clock, a tradition dating back to the Swedish siege of 1645. Brno is also a huge university town — tens of thousands of students give the city a young rhythm, which means graduations, defended theses and first apartments are constant flower occasions. And with functionalist landmarks like the UNESCO-listed Villa Tugendhat, this is a city with a real eye for clean, modern design; our local florists arrange accordingly.

How quickly can a bouquet reach Brno from abroad?

Faster than most people expect. Because nothing is shipped — the arrangement is built in Brno by a Brno florist — the flowers only travel across town, whether to the historic centre, Kralovo Pole, Zabovresky, Lisen or a hospital ward. Your gift message is delivered word for word as you typed it, so writing it in Czech is a nice touch even if you order in English.
