Florist Castries - Saint Lucia Flowers

Yes, you can send flowers to Castries from overseas: order in US dollars, and a florist on the island arranges your bouquet fresh for hand delivery within 1-2 business days — often same-day if you order before noon local time. The service fee is a flat $14.95, the same as every abcFlora destination.

Did you know Saint Lucia has two rival flower festivals?

It does — and they are centuries old. The island's historic flower societies, La Rose and La Marguerite, celebrate their feast days on August 30 and October 17 with song, costume and processions — a friendly rivalry of kings, queens and choirs found almost nowhere else on earth. Flowers are woven into Saint Lucian identity in a way that makes sending a bouquet here feel less like a gift and more like joining a conversation the island has been having for generations.

What might a Castries bouquet look like?

Expect the tropics to show up: anthuriums, heliconias, ginger lilies and lush greenery thrive in this climate and feature naturally in local work, alongside classic roses for romantics. Because your florist is in Saint Lucia — not shipping boxes from abroad — the stems are cut fresh and arranged the day of delivery. Whether it lands near Derek Walcott Square — named for the Nobel laureate poet born in Castries — up the slopes of Morne Fortune, or by the harbour where cruise ships dock at Pointe Seraphine, it arrives vase-ready.

When do Saint Lucians celebrate with flowers?

Beyond the two flower societies' feasts, the calendar is generous. Jounen Kweyol at the end of October celebrates Creole language, food and dress across the island. Independence Day falls on February 22, and December 13 — the feast of Saint Lucy, the island's namesake — brings the National Festival of Lights to Castries on its eve. Add weddings, christenings and the birthdays of family whose relatives work abroad, and there is rarely a bad week to send.

How does delivery work around the capital?

Castries wraps around its harbour and climbs the hills fast, and addresses often lean on landmarks rather than street numbers — which is exactly why a local florist matters. Include a phone number for the recipient and the florist handles the rest, from downtown offices near the century-old Castries Market to homes toward Vigie and the surrounding communities. Your card message is delivered word for word as you wrote it.
