Florist Dhaka - Bangladesh Flowers

To send flowers to Dhaka from outside Bangladesh, order online in USD and a Dhaka florist will build your bouquet fresh, delivering it within 1-2 business days — same-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon Dhaka time. Bouquets start around $55, with one flat $14.95 service fee on every order.

How central are flowers to life in Dhaka?

More than most outsiders expect. The wholesale flower market at Shahbagh is a Dhaka institution, moving mountains of marigolds, roses, and tuberoses before dawn, just steps from the University of Dhaka campus. On Ekushey February (February 21), the city lays floral tributes at the Shaheed Minar to honor the Language Movement martyrs — one of the most moving flower traditions anywhere, with barefoot processions arriving from the first minutes of the day. On Pohela Falgun, the first day of spring in mid-February, young women across the city wear marigold crowns and yellow saris. And come April and May, the krishnachura trees set whole avenues ablaze in red-orange bloom. February in Dhaka, in short, belongs to flowers — but the city never really stops.

Which flowers carry the most meaning in Bangladesh?

The white shapla water lily is the national flower, stamped into the country's emblem. The rajanigandha — tuberose — is the classic stem of Dhaka romance and wedding stages, prized for its evening fragrance, while genda (marigold) garlands drape everything from holud ceremonies to graduation photos. Roses arrive in the city from the famous growing villages on Dhaka's outskirts near Savar, so a rose bouquet here is a genuinely local product, not an import.

When should you schedule a delivery?

That mid-February stretch — Pohela Falgun, Valentine's Day, and Ekushey in a single week — is the busiest season, so order a couple of days ahead. Pohela Boishakh, the Bengali New Year in mid-April, is another spike. Year-round, weddings and holud ceremonies, Eid family visits, graduations, and corporate milestones in Gulshan and Motijheel keep local florists working daily. For spontaneous gestures, the 1-2 day standard window means you can respond to news almost in real time.

How does delivery cope with Dhaka's famous traffic?

This is where the local-florist model earns its keep. Your bouquet is arranged in the city on delivery day and carried by someone who knows how to move between Dhanmondi, Gulshan, Banani, Uttara, and Old Dhaka — including the rickshaw-width lanes of the old city, where no international courier van would fit. No box, no wilted surprise, even in the monsoon months from June to September when streets flood and timing matters. The florist phones the recipient if a gate or apartment block needs navigating, which in Dhaka is simply good practice.
