A local florist in Heredia arranges your bouquet fresh and hand-delivers it within 1-2 working days of your order — you pay online in US dollars, with prices from about $55 and a flat $14.95 service fee wherever in the world you are ordering from. Same-day is often possible before noon local time.
Why is Heredia called the City of Flowers?
Heredia's nickname — la Ciudad de las Flores — is the kind of thing locals still debate: some say it honours the blooms of its gardens and coffee-country climate, others trace it to the influential Flores family of the colonial era. Either way, sending flowers to a city with that name feels right. Heredia sits in the Central Valley on the slopes below Barva Volcano, surrounded by coffee farms, and its springlike temperatures year-round are as kind to cut flowers as they are to the people who live here.
Which Costa Rican dates should I plan around?
Circle August 15: Costa Rica celebrates Mother's Day on the Feast of the Assumption, and it is the biggest flower day of the year by a wide margin — order several days ahead. Valentine's Day, graduations at the Universidad Nacional (whose main campus anchors the city), and the September independence celebrations all bring steady flower traffic too. Many of our Heredia orders come from Costa Ricans abroad and from foreign families with ties to the province, and a bouquet sent for a birthday back home remains the classic.
How does delivery work around the province?
Florists deliver across central Heredia — a short walk from the colonial El Fortín tower and the Parque Central — and out to the residential districts and suburbs that blend toward San José. Costa Rican addresses famously run on landmarks rather than street numbers, so pass along directions the way a local would give them, plus a phone number. The bouquet is arranged in-country on delivery day, never boxed and shipped, and your message is delivered exactly as written, in Spanish or English.
We also deliver to San José, the capital next door, and to Alajuela near the airport. See flower delivery across Costa Rica for the whole map. Checkout accepts cards, PayPal and Shop Pay, or you can pay with Bitcoin — all backed by a 4.8/5 rating from 377+ verified reviews.
